FROM THE PRESIDENT'S DESK
Chapter 20 President: Benjamin R. Tozer
Chapter 20 Members!
First, I’d like to introduce myself - My name is Ben Tozer and I will be your Chapter President for 2020-2021. Second, I want to say thank you. Thank you to our members for giving me this opportunity and thank you to our board members and prior leaders for building such a strong chapter.
The challenge for our Chapter this next year will be how we can provide even more value to our members while we may need to move many of our meetings and work online. Our first online-only Member Meeting will be later this month. Please join us! We are still pinning down the schedule but I believe we’ll have a few interesting speakers for you. And let me know afterward how it went and what could be done better or differently. We’ll also be exploring what we can do in safer settings including meetings held outdoors.
I’m doing my own work on coming up with ideas for how our Chapter will approach this next year, but the best thing I can do is listen. If you have any ideas on things we can or ought to be doing, drop me a line. I can be reached by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or you can give me a call at 612-492-7444.

MAY BOARD AND MEMBER MEETING RECAP
On May 20th, we conducted our Chapter Board meeting via a video conference. 2020 IRWA EDUCATION CONFERENCE
As all of you know, IRWA had to make an extremely difficult decision due to COVID-19 to unfortunately cancel the 2020 IRWA Education Conference in Minneapolis. There were many meetings and a lot of time and effort put into preparing for the Conference and I want to again give a special thank you to Mindy Leadholm, Dan Lesher, and Michelle Macmillan for all of their time, hard work, and passion in putting together what would have been an amazing Conference.
Submitted by Ben Barker, WSB

If you have any questions about your membership, please feel free to contact Ben Barker at 612-581-6572 or email@example.com.
RWIEF - THE SKINNY ON SCHOLARSHIPS
Most of us know that the Right of Way International Education Foundation is the non-profit funding mechanism for right of way education, providing funds for new courses, updates of existing courses and other education initiatives. Not as many of us remember that RWIEF supports three scholarship programs, click here to get the skinny!
UPCOMING EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
With the inability to offer in-classroom courses during the pandemic, the IRWA has adapted and currently is offering many courses VIRTUALLY.
Virtual Courses are different from Online Courses in that the Virtual Course is set up on a specific day with all participants and the instructor online and learning together. Course material will either be mailed or emailed (depending on the material) to each participant directly. For everyone who has been working remotely the past several months, it is similar to a ZOOM meeting for IRWA education!
This is an extremely valuable tool that we can all take advantage of to continue our education needs throughout the pandemic. Check the link below to see all of the Virtual Learning Opportunities that are currently available.
