Style with Spark Using Adobe Spark to illustrate AP style rules

The goal: For journalism students to become more familiar with Associated Press style

The class: JOUR 419, Multimedia Editing

The exercise: Choose a rule from the AP stylebook and illustrate it using Spark Post

Spark Post is free for iOS and Android users

The process:

1. Instructor demonstrates Spark Post for about 5 minutes

2. Students either go to Spark on the web or download it onto their phones (it's free!)

3. Students spend about 20 minutes making posts for a style rule

Examples of Spark posts made by JOUR 419 students

The results:

Students internalize AP style rules.

Students learn a new tools.

Students' work is showcased on the screens in the gallery.
