Term 2a, week 5

Well, Week 5 has been as busy as ever whether we are at home learning or learning in class.

We have continued to develop our knowledge and understanding of the Anglo-Saxons by learning about how they came to settle in Britain and the settlements they created.

We also decided to take a break from learning about the Anglo-Saxons and watched a video, ‘Draw With Rob’, where author and illustrator, Rob Biddulph, teaches us how to draw some of his cartoon characters.

This week, we drew a koala. I wonder what it will be next week?

Mrs Caffrey joined us for our weekly assembly.

She awarded our Star of the Week and Golden Book recipients with their certificates and chocolates.

Sadaf was one of the children in Golden Book for creating an excellent animation of the pollination of a plant be a bee.

Peter and Soliana were also in Golden Book this week.

Whilst working and learning at home, Sienna has created some fab inventions to help her with this. She has made a desk tidy and whiteboard so, for her creativity, we awarded her Star of the Week.

It is difficult to decided each week who to award certificates to as the children are all coping well with this new way of learning whether they are at home or in class. Great patience, participation, perseverance and resilience is involved- well done Year 5. Keep it up and we’ll see who is rewarded next week!
