It All Began in a Garden Libbie d'Esterre - High River AB

We are blessed with many fabulous gardeners in High River and I am fortunate to know several of them. All the gardeners that I know also love to share the product of their efforts with friends and neighbours. How wonderful for all of us!

One such gardener in town is Libbie d'Esterre, who, in addition to cultivating beautiful plants, has spent a career cultivating young people in the schools of the area.

Unbelievably, it was nine years between visits to her lovely garden - so much had changed yet so much remained the same. I think of her garden as a secluded oasis of peace. It is designed for a small group of friends to sit and visit and relax.

With a beautiful fence surrounding the yard and strategically planted trees and shrubs you feel oh so private.

The sound of water adds to the feeling of peace and tranquility in the garden.

Libbie has a way of putting special touches together.
From elaborate sculptures to rustic finds... they can all find a home in her lovely garden.

So many shades of pink.
Birds are welcomed to enjoy her lovely space and to make their home there too if they should choose.
Libbie makes great use of planters - whether they are sitting or hanging.

I saw this quote in two gardens and it expressed so nicely the feeling of being connection with Nature and where we all began.

Until we can meet in a garden and walk free of concerns may you all stay safe and healthy.
