The Diffusion and Distribution of Soccer By: Nick Chancellor and michael cuenca

Origin: The first evidence of soccer dates back to the 2nd and 3rd centuries BC in China where they kicked a leather ball into small nets which was the first resemblence to modern day soccer.

Many other countries played other variations of the sport and it started to become popular and rapidly diffuse through stimulus diffusion to many other surrounding countries.

Soccer was first organized and made a part of popular culture in England in 1856. The first official team was established in 1857.

Diffusion pattern: In the 19th century it was diffused through britain and surrounding countries , and during the 20th century it was brought to the rest of the world.

Distribution: Soccer has distributed to over 200 countries and is loved and played worldwide.
