Conversation Club <Online>

Conversation Club is one of the best ways to meet new friends in Sheffield. Join us on Zoom for an hour of informal chat, quizzes and much more. It is important that you register on Unihub so we can send you the link to the Zoom chat room.

Secret Picnic

Our popular secret picnics will take place throughout the summer. You will meet one of our International Ambassadors at City Campus who will lead a walk to a place of interest in the Sheffield area. You won't know the destination of the walk until you arrive at 11am. The activity ends at approximately 3pm.

It is a great way to discover a new place and meet new friends from around the world. We will be limiting each group to five students (plus the ambassador) to comply with Covid regulations. Once you register for the event, we will send more details including the City Campus meeting points.

Trip to Whitby

Whitby

Whitby is a beautiful seaside town in the North East of England, famous as the home of Dracula and the best fish and chips in the world. This is always one of our most popular trips so we recommend you buy tickets as soon as possible.

Sheffield's Past and Present Walk

Sheffield Blitz / City Centre

Join us as we step back into Sheffield’s history. Explore the City Centre with one of our International Ambassadors and discover how World War II shaped the Sheffield we know today. Meet at Main Entrance, Owen Building (City Campus) 11am. The activity will end at approximately 1pm. We will investigate the Sheffield Blitz of World War II while exploring what the present City Centre has to offer. It’s a great opportunity to meet new friends and learn more about the city you call home.

Sheffield's Past and Present Walk

Victorian Sheffield

Ecclesall Road, Sheffield 1896

Join us as we step back into Sheffield’s history. Explore Sheffield General Cemetery and the Botanical Gardens with one of our International Ambassadors and step back in Victorian England. Meet at the entrance of Collegiate Library (Collegiate Campus) 11am. The activity will end at approximately 1pm. We will discover what Victorian Sheffield would have been like while exploring what the exciting Ecclesall Road has to offer in the present. It’s a great opportunity to meet new friends and learn more about the city you call home.

Saturday 7 August | 11 am - 4 pm

Trip to Longshaw Estate and Surprise View

Explore one of the most stunning views in the area with our trip to Longshaw Estate, which includes a walk to Surprise View. We will be taking public transport so please bring approximately £5 for transport and a packed lunch. Please wear appropriate footwear as there will be some hill walking. There will also be an option to go to The Fox House (pub) for refreshments and food.

Join us for a free fun afternoon with Hallam Active, where you’ll have the chance to play cricket, basketball and football with other students.

Walk to the Peak District

The Peak District

Did you know Sheffield is the greenest City in Europe? Join our International Ambassadors on a walk through beautiful countryside, to the edge of the Peak District. This activity will involve a considerable amount of walking (4 - 5 hours) so please wear sensible shoes and bring refreshments.

Trip to York

York - The Shambles

Popular with local and international tourists, York is one of the most historic cities in the UK. Among its many attractions are the famous castle, minster and museums, including the National Railway Museum. Tickets for the trip cost only £12.
