What is a PCCR (Plan for College and Career Readiness) Meeting?

  • Counselors will present information to students in their College and Career Awareness classes. We will discuss high school courses and graduation credits, college, scholarships, concurrent enrollment, AP classes, the ACT/SAT test, and much more.
  • The link to the slideshow is here: link
  • Parents are invited to view the slideshow with their students at home. If, after viewing the slideshow, parents would like to meet individually with their student's counselor, please go to the Sign Up Genius link under the counselor's name on the Counseling Office page titled "Plan for College and Career Readiness."

Karen Frazier offers the following tips for students entering Middle School:

Entering middle school is a big change in the life of a student. With increased academic requirements and a growing social life, middle school presents challenges students likely have not faced in earlier grades. In middle school, social concerns are very important to many students. You may be worried that you won't fit in, or you won't make many friends. While it's normal to worry about social situations and friendships, the following tips can help you find loyal and fun friends who share your interests and attitudes.
  • Introduce Yourself
  • Join Clubs and Activities
  • Be Approachable
  • Be Yourself
  • Participate in Class
  • Do Your Homework

What is Pod time? How is it different from E-Time? What about Team Time?

Pod time is where students stay with their core teachers (Math, Science, and English) for extra help or enrichment. Every student has 3 Pod Times each week.

E-TIME IS WHERE STUDENTS CAN CHOOSE FROM A VARIETY OF ACTIVITIES INCLUDING KARAOKE, DRAMA GAMES, OUTSIDE TIME, OR OTHER ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES. IT IS ALSO WHERE STUDENTS WHO ARE BEHIND IN WORK OR WHO NEED TO REDO OR RE-TAKE A TEST MAY BE PULLED INTO A STUDY HALL OR CLASSROOM TO WORK WITH A TEACHER.

Team Time is only on Wednesdays. During Team Time students will engage in activities designed to bring the entire school closer as a team.

We now have after-school activities that your students may attend! Space is limited, so if they are interested, the sign-up sheet is on the teacher's door.

Wednesdays:

  • Yu Gi Oh and other card games with Mr. Francis in room 27

Thursdays:

  • Dungeons and Dragons with Mr. Whiting in room 10
  • Embroidery/Stitching with Mrs. Anderson and Mrs. Ashton in room 39

Morning intramurals:

  • October 11th-22nd Futsal (indoor soccer)
  • October 25-Nov 5th Handball
  • open play intramural (Tuesday-Thursday)
ALL IN for learning!
