Eleven climate start-ups battled it out in the Scottish finals of global green ideas competition ClimateLaunchpad at ECCI last week.
The businesses received dedicated support by ECCI to develop a rock-solid business plan and prepare their bid for success in the competition.
The panel of judges for the Scottish ClimateLaunchpad finals included Zero Waste Scotland Chief Executive Iain Gulland, Sefton Laing, who heads up sustainable banking at RBS/Natwest and Gill MacAuley, Managing Director of the Strathclyde University Incubator and angel investment syndicate Gabriel Investments.
Ed Craig, ECCI’s Deputy Director and Head of Innovation who headed up the judging panel, said: “Massive congratulations to Industrial Nature, uFraction8, EHCO Shoes who stood out among a pool of great companies and are all deserved winners.
They each stand every chance of success when they compete against the world’s best in the grand final next month. We can’t wait to see how they fair against the other regional winners.”
The top ten companies will also move on to the renowned Climate-KIC Accelerator programme, offered by ECCI, to help low carbon start-ups get investment-ready.
