THE 2020 GRADUATION AWARDS

This has been an extremely challenging year for everyone, and it's been no different for the community of St. Joseph's High School. That said, we feel it's important to maintain a certain standard when it comes to important milestones in the lives of students.

And graduation is one of those most important milestones. With that in mind, and in an attempt to hold on to cherished moments involving cherished people, we present to you the 2019-2020 GRADUATION AWARDS.

To deserving sons/daughters or grandchildren of Legion Members or War Veterans and these students are continuing their education at a post-secondary institution.

To the most improved student who has achieved success while overcoming adversity. Student must go on to school in September and must not have received any other award.

THE RCAF WING BURSARY

To a graduating student who has excelled academically while at the same time made it a priority to get involved in their community through various volunteer endeavours.

THE ONTARIO ENGLISH CATHOLIC TEACHERS' ASSOCIATION BURSARIES

To graduating students who have shown outstanding qualities as St. Joseph's High School students.

THE MAGELLAN AEROSPACE CORPORATION AWARD

To the graduating student with a high average in the area of Mathematics.

THE COMPASS GROUP CANADA / CHARTWELLS DINING SERVICES

To a graduating student who has displayed a positive attitude towards his or her studies, who has demonstrated good citizenship through a positive contribution to life at school and/or in the community and proceeding to post-secondary education.

EDGE IMAGING AWARD

To a graduating student who takes an interest in photography and or fine arts or business or has demonstrated a passion for their chosen field.

FRENCH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE BURSARY

To a student who excelled throughout high school in the French as a Second Language program.

THE ONTARIO POWER GENERATION BURSARIES

Awarded to two students who have completed their Grade 12 with a specific focus in Engineering/Electronics, Science, Information Technology, Environment, Mathematics, Physics or Business.

BETA SIGMA PHI-EPSILON UPSILON CHAPTER AWARD

To a female student demonstrating compassion, tolerance and understanding to her fellow students and community.

THE LEAH SYMINGTON FINE AND PERFORMING ARTS AWARD

To a graduating student going on to post-secondary education and pursuing a career in an arts-related field.

THE TOWNSHIP OF McNAB / BRAESIDE BURSARY

To a graduating student attending college or university. The student is chosen for their contribution in community involvement within the school and or the community and must reside in McNab/Braeside township.

ST. JOSEPH'S HIGH SCHOOL PERFORMING ARTS AWARD

To be presented to the graduating students who have contributed extensively to various aspects of the performing arts at St. Joseph's High School over the years.

THE RENFREW ART GUILD BURSARY

To a graduating student pursuing further studies at a post-secondary institution in the Visual Arts or related studies.

THE RENFREW VICTORIA HOSPITAL AUXILIARY BURSARY

To a graduating student who will be continuing his or her education in a medically related field.

To a graduating student who demonstrated outstanding community leadership and aims to promote youth development and empowerment through philanthropic experiences, within Renfrew County.

To a graduating student who has displayed a "Good Neighbour" spirit in contributing to parish, school & community and who seeks to continue to care for people.

To a graduating student who will be continuing their studies in a post secondary education. Must be a resident in the Greater Madawaska Township.

To a graduating student who has taken at least one History course and who through their daily actions demonstrates their appreciation for the past & respects that these actions have a lasting historical impact for future generations.

THE ESTATE OF THERESA LACOURSE SCHOLARSHIP

To a graduating student entering a Nursing Science field with a high academic average.

SPECIALIST HIGH SKILLS MAJOR AWARDS

To the graduating students who will be pursuing a pathway into the work force or continuing their Education at the Post-Secondary level.

EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING AWARDS

In recognition of students who will pursue the field of study at the post-secondary level that related to their co-operative education placement.

OYAP: ONTARIO YOUTH APPRENTICESHIP AWARD

Awarded to a graduating student who will be continuing in an apprenticeship program.

THE RENFREW MASONIC LODGE #122 AWARD

To a student who is proceeding to tertiary education and who in the opinion of the teaching staff, will make the best use of the award and will be going into the trades.

THE TOWNSHIP OF GREATER MADAWASKA AWARD

To a student who lives in Greater Madawaska and who is going on to further studies.

THE TOWNSHIP OF WHITEWATER REGION BURSARY

To a graduating student who resides in the Whitewater Region, who has contributed in their community, has been involved in the agricultural industry, has been a school leader, demonstrates devotion, sportsmanship and has had involvement in arts and culture.

THE HEYDA ESTATE SCHOLARSHIPS

Graduates of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School pursuing post-secondary education.

ETHEL PEARL DUNFIELD ROGERS BURSARY

To a student who resided in the former Township of Admaston during elementary or high school years and continuing post-secondary education.

THE RENFREW FISH AND GAME BURSARY

To a student who will be continuing his/her education in the field of forestry, conservation or tourism.

MICHELE ARBOUR INNOVATION AND CREATIVITY SCHOLARSHIP

To a graduate who has demonstrated a capacity for innovative and creative work during their high school career - chosen by school staff.

CHAPLAINCY AWARDS

To the students who have shown servant-leadership in the pastoral works of the school and in their parish community.

THE ROTARY COMMUNITY SERVICE SCHOLARSHIP

To a graduating student entering a post-secondary program and who has demonstrated exemplary passion, commitment, and interest in Community Service, including World Community Service.

THE SISTER'S OF ST. JOSEPH'S SCHOLARSHIP

To a deserving graduating student who exemplifies Christian care and concern for all God's creation.

TOM AND COLLEEN DICKER AWARD

To a deserving student that demonstrates a positive attitude, effort and discipline. Two awards, one for a college bound student and another for a university bound student.

OTTAWA VALLEY PHYSIOTHERAPY AWARD

Awarded to a student who will be attending University, is enrolled in a Science Program, was involved in at least one school extra-curricular activity and who demonstrates leadership qualities that "made a difference" while attending SJCHS.

DONNA CORRIGAN MEMORIAL BURSARY

In loving memory, honouring a very special Physical Education Teacher. Awarded to a female Physical Education student with Outstanding School Spirit.

ONTRAC "A VISION FOR THE FUTURE" AWARD

Awarded to a co-op education student whose career decision making has been influenced by their work placement. He/She has displayed a strong work ethic, determination to succeed, possesses positive personal attributes such as enthusiasm, perseverance, integrity and a desire to learn. The graduate plans to enrol at a post-secondary institution, apprentice into a trade or find work in their area of interest.

THE INDIGENOUS EDUCATION BURSARY

This bursary is given to an Indigenous or Non-Indigenous graduating student who has made their mark upon the world by demonstrating the ability to be a change-maker for the betterment of their families, communities, and country.

ARNPRIOR McNAB BRAESIDE UNITED SOCCER CLUB BURSARY

To a graduate high school student in the community who has impacted the organization in a variety of ways.

TOWN OF ARNPRIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL BURSARY

To a student residing in the Town of Arnprior who is working towards successful completion of their Ontario Secondary School Diploma and are continuing with post-secondary education.

TERRY McINTYRE MEMORIAL BURSARY

This bursary strives to recognize qualities of volunteerism, peer support, commitment to the community, leadership, family focus, and dedication to personal faith development. Preference will be given to students who have overcome personal or familial obstacles throughout their time at St. Joseph's and have shown resilience and grace in their battles. Awarded to a graduating student who will be entering post-secondary education.

JENNIFER MARY CONROY MEMORIAL BURSARY

Presented to a student who demonstrates a giving and generous heart. Someone who is quiet, with a caring, bright spirit. The student who is a good friend to others.

ROBERT KENNEDY MEMORIAL BURSARIES

To the graduating students who are continuing their education at the post-secondary level, taking into account various factors such as most improved, a commitment with great dedication to their studies, and a positive attitude.

THE DOMINO'S PIZZA AWARDS FOR PERSEVERANCE AND PROMISE / JOE DeLEEUW BURSARY

This award is given to graduating students who are not necessarily pursuing post-secondary education. These students demonstrate leadership, perseverance and promise. These students are seen to have a strong potential in succeeding in a field for whatever they choose to go into.

VICE PRINCIPAL'S AWARD FOR ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT

To the deserving student who demonstrates positive commitment to their studies and to the spirit of St. Joseph's High School.
