Weekly Newsletter! Ms.Moore's newsletter 4/10-4/21

What are we learning?

Math: We will learn about fractions (halves and fourths)

Reading: We will review poetry and write our own sensory poems

Phonics: At this point in the year, I am doing phonics in small groups. These weekly words are either higher level words to challenge your student, or they are words they are struggling with from previous weeks. If you would like a list of the words sent home each week please let me know, otherwise phonics will solely be done in class.

Social Studies: We will studying different Julia Cook books and their messages.

Science: We are still focusing on life cycles of different animals.

Important News

  • On April 28th we will be going to the Austin Zoo. Permission forms were sent out a few weeks ago. Admission is $5/ per person attending. Please don't forget all permission forms and money are due no later than next Friday April 21st!!
  • Fun Run has begun!! Woohooo! If you have not done so please make sure to log on and register your child. I understand that some families can not financially participate and that is perfectly okay, but your child will still receive a prize just for registering.
  • Starting on Friday, we will be hatching duck eggs. My plan was to do this in our classroom but they require extensive attention 7 days a week, therefore I will be hatching them at home and bringing daily photos and videos of the eggs to class. Duck eggs take approximately 28 days to hatch so cross your fingers during this journey please (:
