Katie Kreibich Tennis

Tennis has become so much more than a sport throughout the years of me playing. I never had intentions of playing tennis growing up. When I was in 8th grade my parents signed me up because Id have something to do after school. I quickly became pretty good and made varsity the next year, throughout high school I played both singles and doubles and competed at high levels. I received all conference two years, MVP two years, all state academic gold, team captain and I took third place at sections. Once my fulfilling high school tennis career was over I had no desire to play in college, I had played year round for the last five years and I was ready to give it up. Again, when I decided to transfer my parents reached out to the UW–Stout tennis coach saying that I wanted to play. I then decided it would be a good way to meet people since I didn’t know anyone at Stout. Joining the Stout tennis team has been one of the best things I’ve done in my college career, not only have I improved my tennis skills and gained friends, but as a team we do things such as volunteer and become part of the community which I don’t think I would’ve otherwise realized. I have medaled at the WIAC Conference every year so far and have the highest winning record on the team right now. Stout as a team is slowing sneaking through the conference ranks and I’m looking forward to my senior season.
