Maranatha Farms is a church-supported, non profit community garden. Our goal is to educate and provide organically grown vegetables to the surrounding Greenville, S.C community. We believe that healthy and affordable food is a God-given right. We aspire to support this right through teaching individuals to grow nutritious vegetables and cook delicious meals for themselves.
We use the eight principles of health as our guide to an optimum healthy life:

Community Supported Agriculture or CSA
Maranatha Farms (MoF) utilizes community-supported agriculture, commonly referred to as a CSA model, which is a system that connects the producer and consumers within the food system more closely by allowing the consumer to subscribe to the harvest of a certain farm or group of farms. It is an alternative socioeconomic model of agriculture and food distribution that allows the producer and consumer to share the risks of farming. The model is a subcategory of civic agriculture that has an overarching goal of strengthening a sense of community through local markets.
In return for subscribing to a harvest, MoF subscribers receive either a weekly or bi-weekly box of produce or other farm goods. This includes in-season vegetables and can expand to dried goods, etc. MoF will try to cultivate a relationship our subscribers by sending weekly letters or posting website updates about what is happening on the farm, inviting you for harvest, or holding an open-farm event. MoF can also provide for contributions of labor in lieu of a portion of subscription costs.
