Terra Winter recently joined the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico as our new executive director on June 12.
Winter has been involved in philanthropy and non-profit work for 15 years.
I completely stumbled into it," she said. "I find it fulfilling to work in this sector."
When asked what she finds most inspiring about philanthropy she shared...
For me, Phlanthropy really reflects a direct impact. It can truly impact the community immediately.
Winter's top three goals for her first six months on the job:
1. Meet with our non-profit partners, donors and community members.
2. Better serve our community and continue to implement our strategic plan.
3. Have progressive donor conversations to further support the Community Foundation's mission.
The number one thing Winter would like for community members in southern New Mexico to know about the Community Foundation?
For Community members to know that We try to serve as a conduit between donors, volunteers and the organizations we serve in southern New Mexico.
Winter has an undergraduate degree in Communications Studies, with a minor in Health Sciences, and a Master's in Public Health. She is very excited to be a part of the non-profit community and looks forward to reconnecting with old friends and connecting with new ones.
