MGLA 20 DMALA Celebrating another decade of community

doors open @ 6:30pm / Hollywood

We're celebrating a big birthday this year and we want you to be a part of it. Over the past 10 years, we've continued the decade of meetings from MGLA.

Each meeting, we try to bring you design skills you can use, and for our birthday, we're going to load you up with lots of skills. We have invited several award winning artists to come share their Adobe workflows with you. And of course, we'll have a bunch of fun stuff for you as well. Food, prizes, goodies, and networking with friends and colleagues are all part of our evening's plans.

Each week, this website will be updated with something new for members, so bookmark it, and check back in regularly. Keep scrolling down (there's loot at the bottom)!

Hope to see you there.

Some of you might not know that DMALA (Digital Media Artists : LA) is an evolution from MGLA (Motion Graphics LA). Formed in 1997, MGLA offered a meetup where local artists could share their work and process - long before internet offered a viable delivery for video. Today we continue to showcase the ideals of artwork, technique, and community.

Adobe Stock

"Creative Community": A search on Adobe Stock does a pretty good job to describe DMALA members. We've drawn things, nurtured each other, made robots, and some of the other stuff too...

Check out some of the images and videos available on Adobe Stock. You might be eligible for 10 free images now. We'll be giving away some more at our meetup. Don't forget to get your ticket.

You've seen us creating video interviews with iOgrapher. You may have been in one yourself. Now's your chance to get your own. Participate in Facebook or Twitter to enter. Your answer counts!
DigiEffects Damage isn't just one effect, it's a series of 9 tools that you can mix and match. For After Effects, Premiere, or even Motion.

We have so many members who tell us that DigiEffects Damage is the easy solution to the "glitch/static/distortion" edit, and opens up so much more once you start digging around in it. If you've found a new use for it too - come share with us. We had fun showcasing Julia's animation for COLLEGE HUMOR.
