LIFE Pedro Jimenez

  • Immigrants, and the lower class had to deal with building a life for their families and living in terrible living conditions.

The lower class were not treated as equally as the higher class. Many poor people didn't even have any place to live as you can see by this picture.

Tenements were terrible for families, the tenements were small and cramped, there was maybe 2 rooms and more than 10 people would live in one housing.

The streets of cities were disgusting. Trash was everywhere and no one refused to do something about it until George Waring decided to clean the streets by creating the white ducks.

Even though life was hard for people during the progressive era but many persevered and lived their lives even though it was terrible.
