WHAT IS A DROUGHT?
A drought is a cracked up floor somewhere when it doesn't rain for months or years or even longer. A drought is not good because land doesn't get much water. Crops will die which means people and other animals won't get much to eat and lions won't get much to hunt.
A drought is not good at all for families or animals so it's not good at all. A drought can also suck up water from the ground and that's not good because animals need to drink fresh water not yucky water.
The earth is cracking up and the crops will die and no water will come in a long time.
HOW IS IT FORMED?
A drought is formed when there is no rain for months or longer or even years. Then when there's no rain for months or longer then the drought will start to crack up and then the crops will die.
HOW LONG DOES A DROUGHT LAST?
A natural drought can last for 100 years, but did you know a California drought lasted for 200 years? That's a really long time for a drought to happen. Especially because people and animals have to wait that long!
HOW POWERFUL CAN A DROUGHT BE?
Droughts can be very powerful because it sucks up water and when droughts happen the wind is very strong and nobody could walk through it!
WHERE DO DROUGHTS HAPPEN?
A lot of droughts happen in Australia and it can happen anywhere in Australia. The most common place of a drought is in the hot dessert! If you are going there for vacation or living there be prepared!! JUST GIVING YOU A WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
