It captures Chiron in three chapters- “Little”, “Chiron”, and “Black”- each ending in their own pivotal moments. Moonlight explores what it means to grow up in an unaccepting environment and the effects it takes on the people, centering on ideas of intersectionality, masculinity, and identity through the eyes of Chiron. Beautiful Boy

Starring Steve Carell and Timothée Chalamet, Beautiful Boy follows the complicated relationship between a father and his son who’s addicted to meth. It’s available on Amazon Prime.

The Florida Project

Living check by check out of a motel does not make the easiest life in Orlando, but for six-year-old Moonie, this is her normal. With scarce supervision, The Florida project follows Moonie and friends' troublesome adventures. It’s available on Netflix.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off

With a lighter tone, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is a classic for staying in. High schooler Ferris Bueller is determined to have an action packed day off from school and will fall nothing short of that, however principal Rooney is just as determined to put Ferris’ “sick day” to a halt.
