Shirakawa-go - 白川郷 Wonderful Japan

Shirakawa-go and three other villages are famous for their unique houses. They are UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1995. The unique shape of this houses belong to the heavy snow fall whats happen in winter time. In this region it's not unique to get snow up to 4 meter. This big amount of snow is really heavy as well and that's one of the reason they had to build this steep, strong rooftops.

Every season has it's own exciting beauty and all of them offers wonderful views and experiences.

In my case, I decided to visit Shirakawa-go in winter. First I had the idea for a one day stay, but I changed my mind and I spent 3 days and it was the best decision I could make. The weather changed really a lot and so I got some exciting time with heavy snowfall and some time with blue sky and a nice warm sun.

I loved both days the sunny one and the one with lot's of snow, but I enjoyed most the day with all the snow.
