The town of Westport has been on the edge of their seats, waiting to know what shops will fill the vacant halls of Bedford Square.

Bedford Square is a new development to Westport, equipped with residences, retail stores and dining. As of now, the development’s stores are Anthropologie, Savannah Bee and the restaurant Amis Trattoria.

Nic+Zoe, a high-end women’s clothing brand, just arrived to Bedford Square in Westport. There Grand Opening is Nov.9 from 2:30 to 7:30.

Nic+Zoe sells to department stores such as Nordstroms, Bloomingdales and Neiman Marcus. The company has five other locations, Westport being the newest one.

"Westport is an amazing town, with wonderful women who will appreciate and enjoy wearing the beautiful, distinctive NIC+ZOE clothing--clothing that moves with you from day to night and week to weekend," Jeanne Query the manager of the store said.

The creator and CEO of the company is Dorian Lightbrown, who started the company in 2006.

"The founder and designer, Dorian Lightbrown, has given the brand a name for itself through its commitment to craftsmanship and quality, highlighting designs that make it easy for women to dress for all of life's moments, both big and small," Query said.

Nic+Zoe understands that people are very busy. They believe that everyone should look good while working, leading to the creation of their hashtag, #makebusylookgood.

“The NIC+ZOE apparel moves with women throughout their inspired and fulfilling lives,” Query said.

Lightbrown worked hard to design a unique clothing line that was fit for working all throughout the day. Her goal is to create clothing for working women and make them feel good about themselves.

The store has been open for about a month and has doing well so far. They have seen an immense amount of Staples moms and Staples alumni visiting from college.

“I think it connects to Westport because it’s a little bit more upscale and has a very large New York influence which is popular here,” Donahue a Stalpes parent said.

The name for the company came Lightbrown her two favorite people, her own children, Nic+Zoe, “as a reminder of the support they offered her during a pivotal time in her career,” the company's website said.

With the new installment of Nic+Zoe, there's hope that the store’s unique designs will catch the attention of many Westport residents.

“What you wear should never stand in your way. You should always #makebusylookgood,” the company's website said.
