Music Why is it important, and what makes it so different?

Music has been around for thousands of years, being invented around 1000 CE. It has changed greatly throughout time, going from 50's Rock and Roll' and to 2010's Top Hits, Hip-Hop and Alternative. It will surely change much more within the next 50 years or so, and that's a reason why I think music is so different; it's constantly changing.

Most music, especially choral, came from the church.
Music today can be about anything and everything, ranging in instruments.

I believe music is important because it is a form of art. Whether this music is being played by an instrument, voice or any other form of sound, it is all so unique on it's own. Some people write beautiful lyrics that start as poetry, some create melodies and harmonies to a beat. Music has helped people find purpose in their lives, as some musicians talk about darker corners of their lives and it helps remind others that they're not alone.

Twenty One Pilots, Live 2016

I know many people whose lives have been extremely impacted by music, specifically the lyrics. Some music that has especially affected me personally would be by a group known as Twenty One Pilots. They have lyrics that personally have helped me get through many difficulties in life. Music can have a very large impact on people, just as other forms of art can do the same whether that is drawing, writing stories, etc.

I have written a few songs myself, and I am also currently trying to improve with a few instruments as well. I hope that one day I will be able to help others find some purpose for themselves in the way that I have also found meaning in my life.
