Amendment 1 is the congress cannot make any laws to stop people from practicing their religion, limit freedom of speech, freedom of the press, limit the fight of people to assemble in groups, or to tell the government about problems in our country(petition).
In 2007 there was a court case about a violation of te first amendment when a high school student displayed a sign in non school/public event. The student was suspended and made a court case because his rights were not respected or violated the court justified in suspending the student. This was believed that it was was a violation of the first amendment.
