Your Itinerary

December 2, 2020

Depart from local gateway where you will board your flight for Quebec City, Canada. If you fly in and out of YQB (Quebec City), your private roundtrip transfers between the hotel and the airport are included. **Montreal is approximately 3 hours from Quebec City - you'll be on your own for your transfers**

Everyone will be arriving on different flights from all over the country so feel free to check-in to your incredible accommodations for the next 5 nights - Le Monastere des Augustines, have some lunch or refreshment in their cafe, and stroll the area and explore independently. This evening, we'll meet for a welcome reception in our private banquet room at Le Monastere with lite bites and assorted beverages.

Do you feel the need to slow down, release physical tension, and breathe deeply to regain your connection with your inner self? Do you dream of disconnecting and recharging your batteries? Are you experiencing signs of exhaustion and would like to take the first steps on the path to holistic health? If so, we've selected the perfect place for you!

A haven of peace, health and wellness located in the heart of Old Québec, the Monastère des Augustines occupies the historic wings of the Hôtel-Dieu de Québec monastery (1639), the site of the first hospital on the continent, north of Mexico. The onsite museum has 1000 items from its collection of 40 000 artifacts on display. The exhibition traces the history of the Augustinian Sisters, their social involvement and their work caring for the sick, as well the evolution of medicine through the ages.

Le Monastère des Augustines offers services designed to promote rest, renewal and self-discovery. They’re based on practices that help you achieve balance and wellness, while also learning about the rich heritage of the Augustinian Sisters.

"We welcome guests from around the world, from every culture and every religion. We approach spirituality from a historical and cultural perspective. While no form of worship is offered to guests within the activities of Le Monastere, everyone is free to live their spirituality in their own personal and private way."

We will be staying in the Contemporary section where each single or double occupancy room has a private bathroom and features either a King, Queen or 2 Single Beds.

In keeping with the "Let's Unplug" environment in this restored former cloister, there are no televisions on property. This is a completely non-smoking environment.

Today is going to be a full day of wellness and relaxation! Begin with your included Vitality Breakfast which is in silence, a morning ritual in harmony with the site’s historic vocation.

We will take an hour to be guided on a private tour of the Museum and Heritage site (approximately 1 hour) this morning. After our tour, enjoy the Spa or program activities (all classes beyond your 3 included ones, are $15 plus tax) or, feel free to explore the German Christmas Markets, cafes and restaurants, and quaint shops right outside our door!

This afternoon, continue to experience the Spa and the programs at Le Monastere. Lunch is on your own and we highly recommend the cafe inside the monastery. You might also choose to continue to explore the Christmas Markets and the neighborhood.

This evening, we've arranged for a private Tibetan Bowl Concert in the 1695 Historic Vaults - you absolutely don't want to miss this! The use of the Tibetan bowl allows deep relaxation and effective stress management, and is also a great complement to yoga and meditation. A meditation concert is the perfect opportunity to take a break. Let yourself be transported through the wonderful ancestral tools that are Tibetan bowls. A time period is allocated after the concert to discuss with the artist and experience the instrument.

Today is an independent day for you to enjoy the tranquility and wellness features at Le Monastere. You can choose to schedule your spa appointments or partake of the classes offered. If you prefer, take some time to explore the Christmas Markets right outside your door.

This afternoon, you're going to afternoon tea at Le Chateau Frontenac to enjoy this most sought-after high tea experience in all of Quebec City!

For the adventurous type, you might also opt for a Toboggan adventure!

This evening, we will enjoy our included dinner at Le Monastere in our private banquet room. Cooked with fresh, healthy ingredients, the recipes promote health and wellness. Social and environmental conscience make the chefs committed to favoring organic products from local producers chosen for their passion and quality offerings.

"In terms of preparation, we opt for methods that enhance flavours and promote nutrient preservation, while excluding microwave cooking, as well as processed foods and other chemical additions. We serve flavourful dishes that please the senses, and invite our guests to savour every bite and immerse themselves in this approach and what they’re eating."

December 5, 2020

This morning after your included Vitality breakfast, head out and grab your Hop-On/Hop-Off 48-hour pass so that you can visit and explore everything Quebec City has to offer. You'll be able to enjoy 14 stops on this magnificent sightseeing bus and get on and off at any of the stops for as long as you like.

December 6, 2020

Be sure to explore the Christmas Markets after your Vitality breakfast and do some shopping, eating and drinking! You also have 24 hours left to use your Hop-On/Hop-Off pass to see the city and even venture into the countryside.

Save your appetite because this evening, we will hold our farewell dinner at Le Continental - a culinary dream come true (and its included!). From a scrumptious Caesar salad prepared under your eyes to a Chateaubriand or even an orange duckling carved before you in accordance with your wishes, or Flambéed shrimps, sirloin steak to our popular fillet mignon of beef special - these are just a few of the choices that our fine dining restaurant offers. Right through dessert time, be temped by extraordinary crêpes Suzette or delicious Pernod pears.
