Important Information

eLearning Days

On Monday, February 5, 2017, a letter will be sent home with all students regarding information to eLearning Days. As you are aware, we have missed 6 days of school due to inclement weather, and we only have five days left of built into our schedule before graduation on Friday, May 25th. We would like to avoid bringing students back to school the week after Memorial Day (assuming we don't have more days missed).

The Indiana Department of Education has approved Loogootee Schools to utilize planned eLearning days for the 17-18 school year. With that being said, we have decided to use Saturday, February 17th as our first eLearning day. The link below contains the letter which explains the eLearning Day and the process in full.

ISTEP Testing Part One

The first round of ISTEP Part One will begin February 26th and end March 9th. The first round is the Applied Skills portion of the test. In the past, this portion of the test has been a paper-pencil based test, however, this year the students are required to take it on the computer. More information regarding testing times will be sent closer to test time.

STEM Camp Opportunity

Westgate is offering several different STEM Camps over the summer for students in Grades 2-10. Please see the attached flyer for more information.

Mrs. McAtee - 6th Grade

Students were devised into teams of 4th and 6th graders and were challenged to build a paper roller coaster. Not only was the activity fun, but students were also able to learn to work as a team, learn the physics behind roller coasters, and use the design and engineering process to work through problems they may have encountered.
