SHORTER DAYS AND DARKER NIGHTS Future Group Autumn News

CLOCKS FALL BACK

With colder weather not too far away, at Future Lighting our thoughts are now turning to the issue of lighting controls, especially when timeclocks are the method of switching lighting on and off in your block.

Soon we will need to light up communal areas for durations of up to 16 hours per day, so before winter really sets in, now is a great time to have your block lighting serviced and overhauled.

Gloomy mornings as we leave for work and return home in the dark can be unpleasant enough, especially without any artificial light to help brighten our path.

Why not speak to one of our team to arrange a service visit and ensure your block is not left in the dark this winter.

WOW!! THESE SAVINGS ARE JAW-DROPPING:

Westminster Bridge Road

We have just completed a 200+ light fitting retrofit swap-out of the existing lighting system to the underground car park at this glorious Westminster residential development.

One light couldn't be replaced because of a rather expensive Lamborghini

The works were successfully completed within 15 days and ahead of our client's target. Now utilising LED technology and the latest in microwave occupancy and dimming technology the client will witness vast savings with a ROI in an incredible 13 months. The block will then save over £20k on wasted electricity alone, without taking into account zero Maintenance costs for the next five years.

If you have a carpark illuminated 24/7 and you are spending vast time and energy maintaining the system, please contact us today for a free no-obligation site service and estimate.

FUTURE GROUP TO LIGHT UP THIS ICONIC LONDON STREET

We are very excited to share the news that we have been awarded the task of illuminating a pedestrian walkway overlooking Tower Bridge, improving the experience of visitors and guests to the swanky eatery area within the bustling and popular tourist spot.

WHAT HAVE FUTURE FIRE BEEN UP TO?

Wireless is the Future

Throughout the Autumn, the team were busy installing wireless fire detection and fire alarm systems within block properties. The design required both communal and apartment protection, apartment solutions being heat sensors with associated sounder.

We are a leading technology partner in installing BS EN 54-25 wireless systems. Designed and built around the latest standards ensures the systems installed provide the same high levels of reliability and life safety provided by a wired system, alongside the superior flexibility of wireless technology.

Wireless technology has come to the forefront of installations for a number of reasons: client disruption, damage to existing décor, unsightly surface cable/containment, dust and dirt exposure, asbestos restrictions and disruption.

Hold-it campaign is launched

Working in partnership with Hyfire, we have launched a campaign to eradicate wedged or propped-open fire doors in residential blocks by installing wireless door holders.

Wedged or propped-open fire doors are a common problem. Fire doors can be heavy, restricting access through buildings and preventing the free flow of air, which is why people prop them open in the first place.

We have been busy installing wireless wall mounted electro-magnet door holders. This is how they work: when the fire alarm activates, the electro-magnet de-energises and the fire door automatically releases and allows the door to close.

These door holders are wireless technology industry standard 868-870 MHz frequency and third party approved and compliant to BS EN 1155 and BS EN 7273-4 category A.

NOD

It’s been another busy period installing NOD, our auto notification unit. NOD is a device that retro-fits into existing equipment, monitoring systems in real-time and sending signals to a cloud-based app, web portal or alarm receiving centre via a wireless network smartcard.

Anything can be monitored that switches a pair of contacts i.e. fire alarm, smoke control, sprinkler systems along with security access control, door entry, gates and barriers.

A recent requirement was to install a wireless fire detection and fire alarm system to containers built into a building repair/clean scaffolding project. The containers posed a risk to the building, in case a fire started on the outside, subsequently early warning fire protection and NOD was requested.
