Holden's Playlist lexi padilla

An important part in The Catcher in the Rye was when Holden's younger brother died. Allie is Holden's younger brother who died from Leukemia. We never know or meet Allie because he died before the story takes place. All we know about him is that he used to write stories on his baseball mitt. Holden still cherishes the mitt and Allie's death is one of the reasons why Holden is so angry. See you again by Wiz Khalifa expresses the feeling of someone who died, and it connects back to Holden being really upset about Allie's death. The lyrics "It's been a long day without you, my friend. And I'll tell you all about when I see you again." Is saying how they're struggling without that person there but they will know when they see them again in heaven.

James Castle is a kid that attended Elkton Hills with Holden. James was bullied so much that he committed suicide by jumping out the window. Holden along with the rest of his school saw James lying on the ground dead. Holden still thinks about this image and it makes him feel even worse about things. Chandelier by Sia is song about suicide, and in the lyrics "But I'm holding on for dear life, won't look down, won't open my eyes", is saying how they're still holding on but they don't want to be here.

Sally is a girl who Holden finds extremely annoying but still takes her on a date. Holden for some reason gets crazy when he asks Sally to runaway with him and they will live in the forest. Sally obviously says no but Holden has a breakdown. He insults her, he yells at her, he begins to truly hate her and he ends up calling her drunk and basically begins to lose his mind. In the song Car Radio by Twenty one Pilots the song expresses how someone is having a breakdown and they don't know how to control it. In the lyrics "they fill with fire, exhale desire, i know its dire, my time today.

Stradlater is Holden's a roomate at Pency Prep, they never really get along, Stradlater was seeing, Jane a girl Holden likes was upset because he felt Stradlater would take advantage of Jane, Holden got Stradlater so angry that he began to beaut up Holden. Although he had no chance at winning the fight Holden refused to give up the fight.
