Use of Technology in English Language Teaching and Learning a Summary

The article talks about how technology is present almost everywhere today and, in being so, how it also plays an important role in language teaching.

It also mentions the importance of English in technology-based media and emphasizes that, for the first time, there are more non-native than native users of English in the world and diversity has become a defining characteristic of ELT today.

It points out that we can greatly benefit from it by making our classes more dynamic, interesting and interactive, but also says that we should still be in control of the lesson we want to teach, always trying to bear in mind cognitive processes and the student's learning process. It says that we should "never let machines takeover the role of the teacher or limit functions where more traditional ways are superior".
