Lake Tahoe - what's not to love?

Especially during the off season.

North Lake Tahoe during the off season almost becomes like your own private romping grounds. Beaches and parks are all quieter and restrictions become a bit looser =P

King's Beach is in California in the North Lake Tahoe area and has a beach, by the same name, that stretches across the central downtown area.

There are 2 possible entrances, the main one which takes you right into the King's Beach Recreation area, and another quieter one, along Coon Street. What's funny is that the park sign along Coon Street actually says no dogs allowed, but when we went there were several dogs running around. Guess it's not that big of a deal?

Fresh air, fresh water...

Your fur parents want to know:

  • Yes, there is parking (parking lots)
  • Yes, this is an off-leash park
  • No, this is not a fenced area
  • No, there are no doggy or human water fountains
  • No, there are no poop bags
  • Yes, there are trash bins (along the recreation center)
  • Yes, there are benches (picnic areas)
  • Yes, there are toilets (in the recreation center)
