Migrate means to move from one place to another.

Fascism is a political philosophy that stresses the glory of the state over the individual and that favors dictatorships.

Advocate means to publicly support something.

Many writers and painters portrayed the grim realities of The Depression life.

Richard Wright's novel Native Son told the story of an African American man growing up in Chicago.

The Depression drove women into the work force albeit many people felt that women shouldn't work except for in the house.

During the 1930s, the southern Great Plains suffered an environmental disaster and the region became known as the Dust Bowl.

More than half of all African Americans, Native Americans, and Mexican Americans were already on he lower rungs e economic latter but the hard times hit them much worse.

About 400,000 African Americans had men, women, and children had migrated to northern cities in the 1930s.
