The Inaugural Event was a Huge Success

Held on June 10, at Eli Field located in Monticello, Illinois, the Inaugural Horizon Hobby RC Fest drew approximately 2000 area visitors.

The free event included all sorts of radio control hands-on activities from cars to drones and airplanes. Aside from the try-me activities there were demonstrations by R/C professionals, pilots and racers alike throughout the day. There was something for everyone, even without a transmitter in hand. There was live DJ entertainment, sales areas and even a play area for youth to recreate in a safe environment.

The goal of RC Fest was to raise money for the Don Moyer’s Boys and Girls Club of Champaign, Illinois through the Hobbies for Good initiative. Hobbies for Good represents all of the ways Horizon Hobby invests its time, talents and resources in the community at large. The initiative has raised money for cancer research, provided food and shelter for families in need and contributed aid for victims of natural disasters. HM
