A B1G Win on a B1G Stage Buckeyes shutout michigan in series finale, 5-0

Behind the pitching of Shelby McCombs and home runs from Anna Kirk and Ashley Goodwin, No. 21 Ohio State topped No. 16 Michigan 5-0 on Sunday in front of a record crowd of 1,836

McCombs struck out 10 Wolverines and scattered just three hits over seven innings with one walk. It was the Buckeyes' 12th complete game of the season.

TOUCH 'EM ALL, ANNA KIRK

A third-inning solo home run off the bat of Anna Kirk gave the Buckeyes a early 1-0 lead. It was Kirk's fifth homer of the season.

GAVIN MAKES IT 2-0 IN THE FIFTH INNING

A two-out RBI single off the bat of Becca Gavin in the top of the fifth increased Ohio State's lead to 2-0 and allowed Lilli Piper to score. Piper had singled previously in the inning.

THE DAGGER

Ashley Goodwin tagged UM's Megan Betsa with a three-run home run with two away in the bottom of the fifth, breaking the game open and give the Buckeyes a 5-0 lead.

A RECORD CROWD

1,836 saw the Buckeyes' win today, a new single-game record, topping the 1,764 that were on hand yesterday for the series opener.
