Adventure Begins

Travel Day (and night)

Let the trip begin, pre flight boozing , (PFB), in the PBI Sky Club Lounge.

Three hours to kill in the ATL, thanks for lunch Delta! Diamond status has it's perks. 😜

Yeah... There's only three feet. John not as flexible as he used to be.

Day 1 Saturday

Our ride in Munich, it's not the Prius but it'll do.

Just a short walk to the train station to visit Marienplatz and to see the Rathaus-Glockenspiel. Second construction dates from 1908. It has 43 bells and 32 life sized figures that reenact stories from the 16th century at certain times of the day. Although we didn't get a chance to see this as it was a Gay Pride Celebration festival on Saturday. That plaza was packed with all kinds people, what an incredible gathering. 🌈

Wow! People everywhere!

What an opportunity to practice Street Photography
Sorry we didn't get a pic of of the 6 ft tall Snow White covered in tattoos and piercings.

Matt and John searched for an hour to find an elusive doner for lunch. Kathy had no patience for it, this spot looks good!

Has beer...what more do you need?
See that little white rectangle in front? Don't believe John when he offers you a bite of cheese. You'll only discover you now have a mouthful of BUTTER. Oh yum

Made it through lunch only to find we have hit the wall and in serious need of a nap. Two hours and a shower later, it's back to the city center for some sight seeing.

Trip to the top of St. Peter's Church (Alten Peter)

St Peter's church is a Roman Catholic Church in the inner city of Munich. It is the oldest church in the region. Affectionately known as Alter Peter (Old Peter) built 1180

What? No elevator?
From the top of the church
Looking at the Glockenspiel,
A quick rain storm that blew through and cooled us all down.
Selfie
Walking back down many wooden steps, you have to pause on the landings to let people pass by who are coming up.
Kathy stayed below shopped and found a place nearby to meet up with the guys for a cool drink and pretzel.
Time for dinner

He's alive!!!

Time to head back to the hotel for the night

Stop for some Crepes, Nutella and banana.

Back to hotel via train
