Welcome to the Cesar A. Batalla School website! We are very pleased to welcome you to a beautiful state of the art building.

For the 2016-2017 school year it is mandatory that all students, in Pre-K through Eighth grade, wear the school colored uniform. Cesar Batalla school colors are as follows:

· Pants: Navy Blue or Khaki (NO JEANS). All pants must be worn with a belt; Navy Blue or Khaki skirts or jumpers,

· Shirts: White, Yellow or Navy Blue Shirts:

· Blouses: White, Yellow or Navy Blue.

· Shoes in black or brown are strongly recommended and white or black sneakers are permitted. Laces on shoes or sneakers MUST be tied.

We will continue to have breakfast served in every classroom at 8:50am. Students are to line up at their designated area by 8:40am. We will also continue to pilot a fresh fruit and vegetable snack program in every classroom. The fresh fruit and vegetable will be delivered to each classroom mid-morning and our students will have a healthy snack every day.

We are also a PBIS( Positive Behavior Intervention Support) school where we expect students to "Be Responsible, Be Respectful, Be Safe and Be Proud". In conjuction with P.B.I.S. we are strengthening our social emotional learning utilizing the RULER program. (http://ei.yale.edu/ruler/)

Once again, I want to remind you that vacations should be scheduled around our school calendar. Also, make every effort to schedule doctor's appointments after school. As a reminder, try to avoid early dismissals whenever possible. However, if you do need to pick up your student early, please send a note to the teacher and the teacher will dismiss them to the main office. Dismissal of students to buses begins at 3:05 pm and by 3:10 pm ALL students are out of their classrooms and exiting the building.
