RD 6: Sydney Rays 29 - Brisbane City 46 Pittwater | SUNDAY 8 October | kick-off 2pm AEST

sydney rays 29 - Brisbane city 46

McInnes Wilson Lawyers Brisbane City have claimed a bonus-point victory over the Sydney Rays in Round 6 of the National Rugby Championship with 46-29 win at Pittwater Rugby Park in Sydney on Sunday.

The Rays slotted an early penalty goal but their lead was short lived as City accelerated to cross for six tries by half time.

Ultimately City outscored the Rays eight tries to four and recorded their third victory of the 2017 NRC season.

A strong performance from City’s forward pack set the platform while captain Andrew Ready led from the front with two of the visitors’ tries.

“I thought some of our play in attack was good. We created a lot of opportunities, our forward play was very good, our maul was a real weapon today and late in the game our scrum became important as well," Brisbane City head coach Mick Heenan said.
“At the end of the day, we got the outcome we wanted, a bonus-point win away from home," Heenan said.
