UT Dallas in Paris 2022 French society: sociological perspectives July 10-aug. 8

Join Dr. Richard Scotch, program head for sociology, and Dr. Carol Cirulli Lanham for a one-month faculty led program in Paris, France. They will be offering two UT Dallas courses: French Social Issues and Field Research Methods from St. John University's campus in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. You will be attending classes in the heart of Paris from Monday to Wednesday, and then joining your professors and the French-speaking graduate teaching assistant Gaetan Dore for academic field trips on Thursdays. That will leave long weekends free for travel to other places in France and beyond.

The campus is being expanded and will soon house even more students.

Fondation Des Etas Unis is one of the 40 residences on the campus. It has 267 single rooms, classroom space, library, and other common areas. It also hosts cultural programs that include art exhibits, concerts, and films. They are holding 25 comfort rooms with private baths for UT Dallas students for June 2020.

The private baths in the room are not much bigger than an airplane bathroom.

The residence has communal areas such as kitchens, sitting rooms, library etc where residents can meet and get to know each other.

Although we will be going on excursions in the city every week, we also will be meeting in this classroom two or three days a week. The course will meet only Monday through Thursday, leaving your weekend free for travel.

All-you-can eat meals will be included in the program cost. Cafe Restaurant Universitaire serves three meals per day but you can also dine at one of the many other university cafeterias located throughout the city by showing your student ID.

The campus is located at 17 Boulevard Jourdan in the southern sector of the city. It is across the street from Tram T3 and the RER B, which connects to the Paris Metro system and Charles de Gaulle Airport.

Trams also stop across the street
