I’m extremely bored. I’m extremely bored.

Hehe, I’ve typed bored so many times it doesn’t even look like a word anymore.

March 30, 2020 - Monday

The going-back-to-school date has been moved from April 6th to May 1st. I knew it would because dates were being constantly pushed back and it was said that we hadn’t even hit the peak of the Coronavirus and will not during the 3-week break we were going to get from school. The date to go back to practicing and playing games for soccer has also been pushed back to the end of April. My dad and I are wanting to make more videos for the girls so they can do drills and practice their skills while on the break. We’ve got a lot of views on the videos and the parents have sent videos of their kids going through the drills.

I also did my calendar in my room today for April and it should have been packed full. I should have had soccer practices and games for both the girl’s and my brother’s team, big due dates for school, any birthdays or holidays, and days I would hang out with friends. But now, I have a birthday and Easter on my calendar. I was also supposed to go to the Wicked showing on April 24th with a friend and even though it hasn’t been canceled, I assume I’m also losing that.

March 31, 2020 - Tuesday

The clothes that I ordered a week ago were delivered yesterday and I wore a new pair of jeans and a t-shirt today. But after putting on the jeans, I realized the jeans were way too big. I fixed the waistline of them last night but the legs were still too huge, especially around the thighs. So I started to fix the legs as well. I spent my whole night doing that as I had nothing else to do.

Teachers, since the Coronavirus break was extended for three more weeks, moved some of their deadlines and due dates back because we have more time to complete things at home as some of it is newer so I didn’t have much schoolwork to do today. I recognize that the teachers weren’t really trained to teach online but in a classroom and I appreciate that they’re still trying to make this situation easier on both us and themselves and make it so we can still continue with our work from class and possibly, if this goes on for longer, teach some new topics and information.

April 1, 2020 - Wednesday

Tonight, my dad and I headed over to my old elementary school to shoot some more of the easy soccer drill videos for his girls to do at home during the break as we had gotten a lot of videos and pictures of the girls doing the exercises and we hadn’t sent some out in a while. We did a handful of them so we could post one each day and not have to worry out trying to find time to find a good drill or exercise and shoot the video every day. The girls are really seeming to enjoy them but are missing the normal practices we would have had if not for the quarantine.

While my dad and I were driving to the elementary school, I noticed there weren’t many cars out on the road which makes sense as everything is closed pretty much but there were lots of people walking around the neighborhood with their families and dogs. My dad and I say all the time that dogs are getting walked more than ever, even the ones that never got them before because no one wants to be locked up in the house every day for weeks.

April 2, 2020 - Thursday

My mom found a ‘schedule’ for the Coronavirus break and thought it would be funny to print it out and tape it up on one of our kitchen cabinets because it fit so well with a lot of what we remind each other of constantly. Most of them were more directed toward my brother, though.

And later that day, my brother and I sat around and laughed at the stupidest things. I was trying to do one of my bio labs but couldn’t focus on the actual learning part of it and made fun of the lab the entire time. Being trapped in the house for this many weeks at a time has really started to affect all of us and we’re all kind of losing our minds without any other human interaction besides each other. We do try to get out and sit in the backyard with the dog because it’s been so nice out and there isn’t much else we can do. That night, we were all in the living room and my dad likes watching YouTube videos. He turned on music videos and grabbed my brother’s old dinosaur toy and made him lip-sync to the songs he played.

April 3, 2020 - Friday

It’s Friday already. This week has seemed to fly by but because we’re stuck inside, I’ve lost a lot of my sense of time and what day it is. Each day feels like a week and they all blend together yet a week feels like a day; it goes by so quickly. Earlier this week, I remember thinking that I had a lot of schoolwork due Friday but was like, “Oh, it’s only Tuesday.” And then I turn around, and it’s Friday afternoon.

We would've had the first girl’s outdoor game today. My dad and I are pretty bummed that we're sitting around at home instead of at the fields playing soccer. It would have been nice to play tonight, especially with how warm it happened to be today. The coach of the team we would’ve played sent an email to my dad, saying that he was bummed we couldn’t play and that he was sending emails like that to the teams he would’ve played. My dad’s gonna try to get a Zoom meeting thing scheduled so all the girls can say hi to each other and we can see them as well.

April 4, 2020 - Saturday

This week, I decided I would start doing small exercises in the morning before I shower because I’m not playing soccer and the gym is closed so I can’t do a full workout or go swimming. And since we’re going to be trapped in the house another three weeks, I didn’t want to get too much out of shape.

I also started working one something for the girls. Last season, my dad started this thing with them where he does three players of the game and gives them a rainbow loom bracelet that we made and they hang them on hooks with the names on a piece of fabric. We wanted to make them something that was more weather resistant than the thin fabric we had used before. We had found a thicker fabric where we can put their names and a soccer-themed fabric that we’re gonna sew to the back of the other fabric and then hook them on.

Today, we spent a lot of our time outside. My dad cleaned out the garage and my mom redid the flower garden in the front of the house. I sat out in the backyard with the dog and played with a new soccer ball we found that she can play fetch with and tear up.

My dad's soccer cones spread out for cleaning.
