ORIGINS OF THE 360o OFFENSIVE LED BY THE ALMA COLLEGE XR TEAM

Provide cutting-edge training tools for the four English as a second language courses in the general curriculum, as offered to diverse groups in a college with a student population of about 1,100

  • Solutions:
  • DESIGN: Provide authentic teaching/learning materials that are specifically adapted to all pre-university and technical programs.
  • REPRODUCE: Engage the students in learning situations that closely reflect real-life situations in professional settings.
  • CREATE EXPERIENCES: Make learning more dynamic and captivating by providing students with learning experiences that accurately reflect actual professional situations.
  • FACILITATE ACCESS: Secure multiplatform dissemination.
  • INSPIRE AND SHARE: Motivate all college network stakeholders to design and share XR material.
INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS

360º Immersive Training tutorials

360º immersive training modules – scripted and contextualised case studies for students to:

ALWAYS be in the front row during healthcare method demonstrations (private lessons, modules screened in healthcare laboratories and/or professional settings – students are trained in their professional environments… but virtually!).

Acquire essential personal and professional skills: desired attitudes and behaviours, declarative knowledge (theoretical), procedural knowhow, conditional abilities (knowledge transfer), and deportment/demeanour.

View modules as often as needed to fully understand and acquire the targeted skills (in consideration of each student’s specific needs and conditions, different learning techniques, UDL, etc.).

Encounter and make real healthcare decisions according to each user’s condition and medical needs (branching scenarios).

Be able to view modules on all available platforms (Oculus headsets, tablets, smart phones, computer screens, Google Cardboard).

THE KEY TO SUCCESS IN XR?

Collaborating > Co-designing > Sharing > Achieving

You are not alone.

Together we can:

Initiate inter-institutional projects.

Empower other XR production teams in the cegep network.

Design and produce modules for the programs of other institutions.

Plan a smart deployment of XR applications in Quebec's college network.
