Your Wedding Day HOORAY - IT'S ALMOST TIME!

YEAH!

It’s almost your wedding day! We’re so excited! We’ve put together a little packet of things that will help us to ensure that you can stay organized leading up to the wedding, as well as help us maximize our time and our day to ensure you get the best photos ever!

the timeline

Chances are, you’re making an all day timeline not only for your vendors, but for yourself as well! Timelines make sure that things are organized and straightforward throughout the entire day, and we love them! If you have any questions about timing, order, etc. send them our way + we’d be glad to help! Once you have this completed, please send us a copy so we can check it out and further plan our day regarding photography.

When it comes to the timeline, most of it is self explanatory, but some of it can be a little more confusing. We recommend starting with the key elements: put in your ceremony, reception, etc. and base the other times off that. If you have them, your hair and/or makeup artist will know how much time they need to handle the bridal party, and that can be entered as well. This is the most time consuming part of the day, and we generally show up during the last hour or so of the ‘geting ready’ portion of the day to photograph final hair/makeup details, and your dress, etc. if it is in the same location.

Another tip: be sure to include driving time to and from locations, including photo locations for the bridal party. If you’re unsure of locations or want some extra advice, send us a note and we’d be more than happy to help (we usually do!)

formal family photos

Formal family photos are going to be some of the most precious and important memories from your day, even though the act of taking them can be a little daunting. We ask that you create a list of each and every photo combination you’d like, by first name, and send us that list so we can verify we get all the photos taken and in a timely matter. We created a sample list for you to work from, to make things as easy as possible. Please send this when completed.

Formal family photos - location

Traditionally, people have their family photos done at the ceremony location: if it’s at a church, it’s likely done on the altar. while this is not a bad option at all, we always love when our couples opt to go outdoors for these photos, making them less overly formal and more of a family keepsake. this generally is easiest on church grounds like steps to the church, etc. we know sometimes weather is an issue, as is spacing for large families, so if you’re unsure about this you can always feel free to ask for some guidance!

First note: please use first names! "Mom" and "Dad" can mean a lot of people, so we prefer to use first names to eliminate as much confusion as possible.

SAMPLE

  • First side: largest group photo (parents, step parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins)
  • First side: parents, step parents, grandparents, siblings
  • First side: parents, grandparents, siblings
  • First side: parents, siblings
  • First side: parents
  • First side: single photo with each parent
  • First side: siblings

REPEAT FOR OTHER PERSON'S SIDE ACCORDINGLY. Keep in mind that each run through, per side, takes approximately 15 minutes - so if additional photos are added that will increase the time it will take to complete the list!

wedding day details

Any details you'd like photographed ahead of the ceremony: dress, shoes, jewelry, ties, etc. - please set all of these items aside for us to easily locate and photograph. Generally we'll take these items to a neat place nearby to create something cool, but the first step is making sure everything is easy to find!

last, but not least

the all knowing questionnaire

If you've received this nifty document, then you have likely received an invitation to fill out our wedding day questionnaire. Yes, this questionnaire is a little lengthy, but it encompasses everything we want and need to know regarding your wedding day, aside from the things we mentioned earlier in this doc.

WE ARE SO EXCITED. AND WE ARE SO CLOSE. So, seriously, any questions at all, please let us know!
