The shapes of the mountains and the changing of the seasons are admirable, calm,and delighting.

" I contemplated the lakes; the waters were placid, all around was calm, and the snowy mountains, the palaces of nature were not changed." (Shelley, 91)

Victor has noticed the serenity of the everlasting Nature .

"The weight upon my spirit has sensibly lightened as I plunged yet deeper in the ravine of Arve. The immense mountains and precipices that overhung me on on every side, the sound of the river raging among the rocks [...] ceased to fear." (Shelley, 116)

The ravine and it's surroundings are uplifting and have removed the weight upon Victor's shoulders

"I have seen this lake agitated by a tempest, When the wind tore up whirlwinds of water and gave you an idea of what the water-spout must be on the great ocean." (Shelley,196)

The storms affect on the lake gives Victor an idea of whirlwinds in the ocean

"We traveled at the time of vintage and heard the song of the laborers as we glided down the stream. Even I, depressed in mind, and my spirits continually agitated by gloomy feelings, even I was pleased." (Shelley, 196)

Victor was depressed, but the sights along the stream had made him better
