Barack Obama President's Day

Barack Obama was born August 4, 1961 in Honolulu, Hawaii, he is currently 58 years of age. He was the 44th president of the united states and spent 8 years in the white house. Obama has a lovely wife Michelle Obama and two children Malia and Sasha. Obama was the first ever African American president. Barack believes that it is important to treat others how you would like to be treated. Obama is notable for the Affordable Care Act which is a U.S law that reforms both the health care and health insurance industries in America, supporting of same-sex marriage, and the military withdraw in Iraq.

February 17, 2009 he signed a stimulus bill that saved thousands of jobs. October 9, 2009 he won a Nobel Peace Prize for his international diplomacy and cooperation between people. Ended the Iraq war. Passed the $787 billion America Recovery and Reinvestment Act to spur economic growth during the Great Recession. Supported the LGBT community’s fight for marriage equality. Signed the Hate Crimes Prevention Act, making it a federal crime to assault anyone based on sexual or gender identification. Dropped the veteran homeless rate by 50 percent.
