Tokyo DancehallQueen My life in Pictures

Dancehall originates from Jamaica and is characterized by a faster rhythm. With up beat music and energetic sensual movements forming a dance, an art called Dancehall.

There are different types of dances in this genre. In the caption above, that would be a head top. You find that there are a lot of acrobatic movements that are incorporated in a dance.

This picture is of me jumping from the Dj's (Jah Seed and Admiral) Table and landing in a split on the floor. Dancehall includes dangerous stunts and is not for the faint hearted.

African Storm sound system is a movement run by Jah Seed and Admiral since 1996, in Yeoville and has been happening every thursday to date. They run the Dancehall Queen competitions in South Africa and it is an annual event. I have been crowned twice as the dancehall queen. In 2011, it being their first ever competition, i was crowned dancehall queen and now I am currently the dancehall 2016.

I have been following the African Storm Sound System movement since 2009 and gained a lot of experience in dancing on the very same stage.

Courage, grace and attitude is a must!!

The end!
