AS90967 - Greer McMullan Participate actively in a variety of physical activities and explain factors that influence participation

Welcome to my AS90967 PE 1.1 Blog. On this page I will explain factors that influenced my participation in a variety of physical activity over the year (2017).

Date: 22/02/17

Activity: Turbo Touch

What is it? You can pass the ball forwards, sideways & backwards. To be able to score the attacking team is required to complete two passes before the "active zone" is opened for a touchdown to be scored. Defenders are required to make only two touches before change of possession occurs.

Equipment needed: You need a marked out area/field and a turbo touch ball. Can be played inside or outside.

The factor that influenced my participation today was... the weather. An example of this factor was... the weather was sunny but not too hot, this had a positive influence on my participation. This was because... I like being outside in the sunshine. Had it been cold or raining I wouldn't of been happy and therefore my participation would have been effected negatively.

Self assessment: Merit

I have given myself this grade because... I participated to the best of my ability.

Activity: Crab Soccer

What is it? Kick an inflated ball into a goal to score points. Unlike soccer, players support themselves on their hands and move with their feet, in motions that make them look like crabs, a method known as crab walking.

Equipment needed: Goal and ball needed. Can be played inside or outside.

The factor that influenced my participation today was... being tired. It was the last period and I was feeling tired and my legs were sore and I wasn't too enthused about exercising.

Self assessment: Achieved

I have given myself this grade because... I was tired and didn't put as much effort into the game as I could have but I did the best that I could at the time.

Activity: Volleyball

What is it? A game for two teams in which a large ball is hit by hand over a high net, the aim being to score points by making the ball reach the ground on the opponent's side of the court.

Equipment needed: Can be played inside or outside but preferably inside on a marked court. You will need a ball, net, posts and cables.

The factor that influenced my participation today was... excitement to play. Volleyball is a fun game in my opinion so I wasn't reluctant to play.

Self assessment: Merit

I have given myself this grade because I was enthusiastic and enjoying the lesson and putting in effort to participate.
