GM's NOTE
October shaped up as a month focusing on innovations for the upcoming festive season and workforce development. In our constant efforts to expose our guests to the most unexpected and engaging experiences, Le Meridien Kochi hosted events which were a breath of fresh air for our guests. We started off the Festive Season with the harbinger of festivities – Diwali celebrations. Run to Give 2016 Charity Run event saw more guest participants and shows the support we get from the community in our initiatives. October has also been a month of learning and self-development. I would like to appreciate all the departments and associates who have participated in the various trainings held throughout October and I believe that the trainings held have contributed to workforce development and keep the work pressure at bay. Let us all strive to achieve perfection within our departmental duties as we are coming closer to another calendar year. Let us brace ourselves and give our best to contribute to more creative experiences to our guests.

Tribal Theme Luncheon
The Finance Team at LM Kochi had conducted the Tribal theme lunch in the Star Cafe on 15th November 2016. The team indulged into hands-on experience in making & serving food with tribal special menu for the day. They also decorated the area to the ambience of the theme lunch.Most of the menu are known for great tasting homely Kerala food. The inside is dark and rudimentary. Among a list of local cuisines, tapioca and fish curry sounded good. There are times when you hardly care about the ambience of an eatery; when the taste of food is outstanding. The fish and chicken marinated with his specially made herbal paste, it is all fresh herbs, green pepper, ginger root and raw turmeric fresh specially for theme lunch. Star café started hearing the sizzling sound of the tribal invasion with song and dance which entertained our associates. They had surely imagined the song echoing through the mountains and valleys.
Kidz world playschool children Hotel Visit
Butterfly Garden at Le Meridien Kochi had become one of the hottest place, which is attracting not only butterflies but kids from different schools.Few sights are more delightful than that of a butterfly dancing on the breeze which we are witnessing at our Butterfly Garden. On Friday,18th November 2016 little kids of Kidz world from Maradu visited our butterfly garden, they enjoyed and saw beautiful butterflies in the garden.By growing a few chosen plants in our garden, we are making a major contribution towards the preservation of these fragile insects, supplying them with a haven in which to live and breed. The little ones met the chef & the General Manger .They were given treats of French fries and cup cakes which they enjoyed while singing rhymes .
LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT
Hotel Refresher Training
Associates undergoing competitive quizzes to check on common FAQs that they encounter from guests. The competition paves way for more learning as they discuss the right answers.
Discovery
Newly joined associates undergo Discovery. Associates are welcomed on board by the Senior Leadership Team and are educated on the brand, brand programs and the property.
Soft Skills Training
We believe that our associates should be empowered with the knowledge and skills to accomplish everyday tasks. In action are various training's taken in F&B Service, F&B ICC and Culinary departments.

WELCOME TO WORK
All the associates had a surprise welcome as they arrived for work on 19th October .Conducted by engineering department ,the associates were welcomed by arthi tika and welcome drink and loads of smiles and photographs to begin the day with full energy.
Friendly Cricket match between Marriot & Le Meridien Kochi
As part of Le Meridien Kochi commitment to supporting a healthy lifestyle and fostering a sense of team spirit amongst our associates, we came together to organized among our brand hotels (Marriott Kochi vs Le Meriden Kochi) an cricket friendship match which was held at Le Meridien Kochi Cricket field today 17th November 2016 & between courtyard Marriot Vs Le Meridien Kochi on 18th November
STAR VOICE CELEBRATION
Grand celebration was held for the star voice 100 % result on the Engagement and service responsiveness .All the staff were invited for the celebrating ,a cake with 100 was cut and there was a wholesome festive mood altogether. Associates shared their experience on how was their journey with Starwood and how proud they feel about their association with Starwood.
Fire and safety training was conducted by our security chief to the new associates.

Muhammed Saneer – Front Office Executive (The Upsell Champion)
The front office team member Saneer’s dedication to do the best is very evident from the efforts and continuous concentration of the targets which have been assigned to him .The quality of respect & Commitment which he shows while adhering to the responsibilities is quite remarkable .
The up sell targets were shared with all of the team members of front office. Saneer in particular was very motivated and enthusiastic about the upcoming challenge. He came on a daily basis and screened all arrivals for the days enlists to check on the probable Guests and then makes it a point to try and up sell to every guest he has screened .He makes it a point to ensure that he attends to maximum guest check in so that he does not miss on any opportunity to up sell.
He makes it a point to keep track of how his fellow colleagues are doing the same and make notes to use this in the future of any guest history ,to check who were interested earlier .He has contributed to nearly 50 % of the up sell revenue last month by his attentiveness and dedication
He has also shown very consistent effort to ensure that guest is always given preference and made comfortable during their stay
On a personal note Saneer’s passion is cricket & listening to music .He likes to chill out with friends.
His ambition isto be a Font Office Manger in a reputed hotel.
