Hollyweed By: Max H.

On new year's day, at 2:00 AM, in Hollywood, the Hollywood sign became known as the Hollyweed sign. It seems that a bunch of mischief makers were celebrating the new law in California (that you are now allowed to smoke marijuana) by switching some letters out of the famous sign.

The vandal was caught on security-camera footage but the police could not figure out his race nor height due to it being dark and raining at the time.

Though the vandal did turn himself in last monday. His name is Zachary Cole Fernandez. He’s 30 and he’s a local artist. After he turned himself in he got arrested for trespassing.

This isn't the first time this happened however, the same thing happened back in 1976, when Cal State Northridge student Danny Finegood and a couple of his friends changed the Hollywood sign to say Hollyweed.

These are my sources.
