Open Your Eyes by Cara Baker

These are the Photographs that I used to create Open Your Eyes. I edited these Photographs in Lightroom before exporting them as J.peg and opening into Photoshop. By using some Photoshop Techniques I was able to create the illusion of a fortune teller reading someones future and this is how I present Open Your Eyes.

  • Layer 1 is a fortune tellers table with a plastic ball acting as the fortune teller's glass ball.
  • Layer 2 is dark clouds this is to add drama to the photography as if you are dazed my the girl. I added another layer mask called "hide all", this is were I could use the black paint brush to hide the clouds that appeared over my fortune teller's table.
  • Layer 3 is my beauty girl with puffs of pink smoke around her. After using the lasso Tool to cut an sphere shape around the girl, I placed her over my glass ball by creating another layer mask "reveal all", using the white paint brush I was able to zoom in and curve the sphere shape more. After this I used the filter>disortation>sphere.
Rear View Mirror by Cara Baker

These are the Photographs that I used to create Rear View Mirror.I edited these Photographs in Lightroom before exporting them as J.peg and opening into Photoshop. By using some Photoshop Techniques I was able to create my view on Rear View Mirror. This Photography in my opinion represents a person looking in the mirror and its another side of their personality that doesn't want to speak. The crack on the mirror represents how the society is broken, it appears there is a person trying to speak but no-one wants too listen as if they are put to the rear of the line.

  • Layer 1 is a Portrait photograph of a male holding the mirror up looking into it.
  • Layer 2 is a Portrait photograph of a male holding his hand up to the camera as if he doesn't want to speak or show his face. I layered this over Layer 1, by using Free transformation I was able to adjust the size whilst holding the shift button this automatically centred Layer2. after this I used Layers>Layer Mask>reveal all and painted the male into the mirror.
  • Layer 3 is a Photography of a crack on concrete. I used the selection tool to cut out the crack out of the photograph, I then copy and pasted this onto the mirror. I used the eraser to remove unwanted concrete and to sharpen up the crack, by using the move to and holding down alt>cmd>c I copied a few more cracks whilst holding cmd on the corners I was able to distort them into the mirror. I compressed the layers by holding cmd+e.
Take Back The City by Cara Baker

These are the Photographs that I used to create Rear View Mirror.I edited these Photographs in Lightroom before exporting them as J.peg and opening into Photoshop. By using some Photoshop Techniques I was able to manipulate my take on Take Back The City, I hope that one day we as people will start noticing our old buildings. we should want to restore, rather than knock it down and put up a brand new ugly tower, that takes away the sunlight from the tree's within the city.

  • Layer 1 is a photograph of dark clouds with the sun shinning through. I positioned this layer so it would shine above the old building.
  • Layer 2 is a Urban photograph of an old rundown building. I used the lassol tool to remove the top of the old building and the buildings to the side, this is so I could get the composition of the building to fit Layer 3.
  • Layer 3 is a photograph of an door with a small square gap. I layered this over the top of Layers 1 and 2, by using Layers>Layer Mask> Reveal all and painted the square in the middle out so Layers 1 and 2 would be revealed.
  • Layer 4 is a Landscape photograph of a tree silhouetted. I layered this over the layers and reduced the opacity to 26% so that it would have a double exposure effect. I also used Layers> Layer Mask> Reveal all and painted the sky out as I have already chosen one. I used Filters> Render > Lens Flare this made colour cast rings as if it was made by the sun light.
The Last Of Us by Cara Baker

These are the Photographs that I used to create Rear View Mirror.I edited these Photographs in Lightroom before exporting them as J.peg and opening into Photoshop. By using some Photoshop Techniques I was able to present this photograph that best describes growing out of childhood. When I was younger I always thought that toys had feelings and when you grow up, you start to realise that they don't and you no longer want these toys.

  • Layer 1 a Photograph of a wooden floor. I enlarged this photograph by cropping it slightly.
  • Layer 2 a photograph of a blue blanket. I used the selection tool to cut around the blanket as the edges of the blanket was not straight and I was able to position the blanket in away that it would compensate the box.
  • Layer 3 a Photograph of toys in a box. I used the lassol to remove the box and place it over Layers 1 and 2, I wanted to create another textural shape by positioning the box so it was over both layers. I also done the same with the feet and positioned them so it matched the slight shadow being casted over the box, because of this I had to cut and copy I piece of the box to match the shadow by holding cmd I was able to manipulate this to fit the area i desired.
  • Layer 4 Is a Photograph of silhouette legs. I used the polo lassol tool to cut out the shadow of the silhouette legs, I duplicated and applied the layer over the box, adjusted the Image>Adjustments> Exposure, I also used Free Transform an Edit>Puppet Warp this lets you adjust the legs into correct composition.
All The Small Things by Cara Baker

These are the Photographs that I used to create Rear View Mirror.I edited these Photographs in Lightroom before exporting them as J.peg and opening into Photoshop. By using some Photoshop Techniques I was able to create the illusion of The Borrowers. In my photograph you can see my models all have different facial expression shock, hiding, ignore and un-noticed.

  • Layer 1 is of the Sewing box falling over and spilled out it everything.
  • Layer 2 is a Photograph of a Giant button with a girl peaking out over the top. I had asked the Model to hold a big reflector over her body and asked her to peak out, I taken an individual Photograph of the button by using the elliptical marque tool I was able to cut a perfect circle out and layer it over the reflector. By using Layers> Layer Mask> conseal i painted her hands back in to make it more realistic.
  • Layer 3 is a Photograph of a man pulling out a giant pin. i Had asked the male to hold a camera stand, as if he was pulling it out. I cut the the amle out and placed him over the pin and used Layers>Layers Mask> Reveal this is so i could hide the camera stand.
  • Layer 4 is a photograph of a man climbing black ladders. I used the Lassol>Magic tool to cut the male out by using free transform i was able to position him on top of the box.
  • Layer 5 is a photograph of man holding a piece of sewing kit. I had done the same as Layer 5.
