READ, READ, READ THIS SUMMER!

"The summer slide is a decline in reading ability and other academic skills that can occur over the summer months when school isn’t in session. Numerous studies show that kids who don’t read during summer vacation actually slip in reading ability by the time autumn rolls around," (Rippel, 2018).

SUMMER LEARNING LINKS

Bennett Elementary and McKinney ISD subscribe to many online resources that your child will have access to during the summer. Due to contracts, we are not allowed to post usernames and passwords on public sites. To access usernames and passwords for the resources below, go to the Bennett Elementary Website. Hover over the Learning Commons tab. From the drop-down menu, click on Bennett Book Search. Select Bennett Elementary. Click on login found in the top right corner. Once students login, a list of resources with usernames and passwords will be revealed.

Once students have logged in, the following screen will appear. Resources are hyperlinked with usernames and passwords listed for your convenience. Thank you for not sharing the usernames and passwords with students outside Bennett Elementary or publicly on social media and online platforms. Bennett students have access to these resources due to paid subscriptions by McKinney ISD, the Bennett Learning Common Book Funds, and Bennett PTO (Tumblebooks).
