What to Know Tiny Humans

Frequently Asked Questions

What should we bring to our newborn session?

Bring tons of diapers and also baby formula for feeding. If you are nursing the baby you should come prepared to nurse while you are here. If you are able to pump and bring extra milk (or supplement) please do, as a very full tummy makes for a very sleepy baby. Baby will have extra stimulation from the posing and is likely to eat twice the normal amount within 2-3 hour time frame. Pacifiers are also helpful! The room will be 80 degrees so you should dress appropriately.

Should we bring props with us?

I have a huge assortment of props that include hats, headbands, buckets and just about anything else you can imagine. If you have something of your own that you wish to bring with you, please feel free to do so.

Can the photos include the baby and older siblings?

Siblings and parents are welcome to join in photos. One of my favorite things to do is sibling shots. Even if the siblings are young, it is still possible to get some awesome images. I have lots of tips and tricks and different ways to make it happen, but little ones are unpredictable and you'll never know how it'll go. I typically have an assistant and she is wonderful and helps me out with the other children.

When the session is complete, how long will it take before our images are ready?

I typically make sure that your order session is scheduled within 2-3 weeks of your session. If you haven't already scheduled that then you can do that here.

If you have props that you wish to have in the photos, please bring them with you

Bring extra milk, diapers, wipes and pacifier

Because the room is going to be warm (80 degrees), you should wear light weight, comfortable clothing.

If you can, keep baby awake in the hour prior to leaving for the studio. A morning bath or a cool cloth is a great way to do this.

Bring baby in loose fitting sleeper that is easy to remove (zip up is best), no socks and make sure diaper is a little bit loose. It helps to avoid creases or red marks on babies body.

Feed and burp baby just before leaving for the studio. I will transition baby from carseat to the beanbag, taking advantage of the deep sleep from the car ride. This will help the session go smoothly.

Bring favorite toys/games to entertain older kids.

Plan to take a break and relax during your session. I will handle everything from clothing and diaper changes, I can even feed and clean up accidents, which happen more often than not. :)
