Recruit Roundup the new faces of beavers women's hoops in 2016-17
Bemidji State University women’s basketball Head Coach Chelsea DeVille finished her first full season with the program last season, which includes the addition of her first full recruit class. The 2016-17 newcomers includes more than a handful of playmakers, as eight incoming freshmen and transfers will step foot on to campus with goals to further drive the success of the program.
Eight new faces will contribute their talents to Beavers Women's Basketball this fall, which is already chocked full of veterans with starting experience. The class includes four front-court and three back-court student-athletes.
Sam Adamich
Sam Adamich, a 5-foot-11-inch forward native of Anoka, Minn., posted 6.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 0.8 blocks per game during her sophomore season at Northern Iowa Area Community College. She shot 39.2 percent from the field and 70.6 percent from the free throw line last season and finished her career at NIACC with 332 points, 257 rebounds, 79 assists and 47 steals. Adamich scored a career-high 20 points Nov. 6, 2015 versus Illinois Central College. The front-court body played basketball under coaches Scott Antl and Jason Hofstadt at Anoka High School.

Sydney Arrington
Sydney Arrington, a 6-0 forward from Sioux Falls, S.D., is a six-time letterwinner in basketball and track and field at Washington High School. She helped WHS to back-to-back state championships in 2013-14 and 2014-15 while being named to the 2014-15 all-tournament team. Arrington was selected to the all-state second team, All-Metro Conference first team, all-city first team in 2014-15. She recorded seven double-doubles through her sophomore and junior seasons. Arrington averaged 15.3 points and 5.8 rebounds.

Allyson Dahl
Allyson Dahl, a 5-10 guard from Newfolden, Minn., is a transfer from Northland Community and Technical College where she ranked seventh in the nation in 3-point shooting at 40.1 percent. She was named first-team All-Northern Division and first-team All-Minnesota College Athletic Conference while also earning two Northern Division Player of the Week honors. Dahl averaged 15.1 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.8 steals per game. She recorded three or more 3-pointers in 16 games while converting four or more in 10 games. During her high school career, Dahl totaled 820 points, 322 rebounds and 286 assists.

Erica Gartner
Erica Gartner, a 5-7 guard from Parsons, Kan., is a seven-time letterwinner in basketball and golf at Labette County High School. She earned three Kansas all-state and three all-league honors while also being named a Kansas Honors Scholar. Gartner averaged 12.3 points, 6.2 assists and 1.8 steals per game through her junior season. In addition to her talents on the court, Gartner was a state medalist in golf in 2013, 2014 and 2015.

Ricki Kallhoff
Ricki Kallhoff, a 6-0 forward/center from Canby, Minn., was a member of the Mon-Dak Conference Championship team in 2015 and Region XIII runner-ups at North Dakota State College of Science. The transfer recorded 8.0 points, 4.9 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game in two seasons at NDSCS. She shot 49.6 percent from the field, 29.8 percent from behind the arc and 67.9 percent from the free throw line. Kallhoff finished her senior season with 7.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game. She was named to the Academic All-Conference Team once and to the President’s list four semesters.
Kallhoff was a three-time All-Camden Conference honoree and was named to the all-area second team in basketball and softball at Canby High School. She holds the blocked shots record and is a member of the 1,000 point club at CHS and earned four letters in basketball, five in softball and three in volleyball.

BriAnna Karg
BriAnna Karg, a 6-0 forward from Vadnais Heights, Minn., averaged 8.4 points per game during her junior season with White Bear Lake High School. She was named All-Suburban East Conference while putting up 5.2 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.7 blocks per game.
In addition to her contributions on the court, Karg earned “A” honor roll status while also serving as choir section leader and participating with her church youth group.

Shaice Marx
Shaice Marx, a 5’9” guard from Thompson, N.D., is a 12-time letterwinner in basketball, volleyball and track at Thompson Public High School. She earned All-State first team in 2015 while also being named All-Conference in 2013, 2014 and 2015. Marx helped THS to three state tournament appearances from 2013-2015 while earning defensive player of the year during that span. She was named to the All-State Tournament Team in volleyball in 2013 and 2014 and placed at state in seven track events.
Off the court, Marx was selected to the “A” Honor Roll every quarter at THS while serving as a member of the National Honor Society from 2013-2015. She was also nominated for the North Dakota High School Activities Association Distinguished Student in 2015.

McKayla Scheuer
McKayla Scheuer, a 5’8” guard from Marshfield, Wis., is a three-time letterwinner in basketball at Marshfield High School. She was named to the All-Conference second team while leading the conference in 3-point field goal percentage with a 40 percent average behind the arc. Scheuer averaged 12.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game and shot 88 percent from the free throw line. She also earned honor roll merits all four years at MHS.

The Beavers return all five starters from last season, which included periods of going from a big starting lineup with junior Katie Miller to a smaller lineup with senior Allison Cordes. Seniors Aimee Pelzer, Tatum Sheley and Hanna Zerr, along with junior Sierra Senske, started all 27 games.
Nestled in Northern Minnesota’s wooded region and located on the shore of Lake Bemidji, Bemidji State University sponsors 15 varsity athletic programs with NCAA Division I men’s and women’s hockey membership in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, while its 13 NCAA Division II programs hold membership in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
