Iryna Lysykh | Georgia Gwinnett College

The ITA Rookie of the Year honors a first-year student-athlete who made significant contributions to his/her team in the areas of leadership, sportsmanship and performance.

Georgia Gwinnett's Iryna Lysykh capped off her first year of college tennis by being named an ITA Singles and Doubles All-American. The 18-year-old had a stellar year for the Grizzlies. Playing primarily in the middle of the lineup, Lysykh finished with a 17-2 record in singles. In doubles, she spent most of her time at the No. 3 spot and finished with a 14-1 record. Lysykh ended the year ranked No. 16 in the nation in singles and No. 8 in doubles.

A Note from Georgia Gwinnett Women's Tennis Head Coach, Chase Hodges

Iryna is very deserving of this honor as the ITA Rookie of the Year. She was selected as the most outstanding player at the NAIA National Championships and has been a major factor in our success this past season. Iryna finished the season with a 17-2 singles record and made an immediate impact for us in singles and doubles. I am very excited for Iryna as this is a tremendous honor. I expect Iryna to be a high level player for us for years to come. Go Grizz!
