Attention potential athletes…
You will need a current physical PACKET completed in order to participate in ANY sports this year, including intramural sports.
The doctor physical must have been completed within the last year. Since no forms were changed, physicals turned in last year are eligible until the physical expires.
Insurance is REQUIRED for participation. Don’t have insurance or desire extra coverage? School insurance is affordable: https://schoolinsuranceagency.com/product/2017-2018-school-year/?county=CITRUS&school=Lecanto+Middle+%28Policy%23%3A09-2166-17%29 – Be sure to purchase including sports, but you do NOT need to include football (for high school only).
Physicals MUST be in and approved PRIOR to participation:
Volleyball starts Friday, August 11th for eligible 7th & 8th graders
Football starts Monday, August 14th for eligible 7th & 8th graders
Golf starts after Parent Meeting on Tuesday, August 15th at 3pm for all eligible 6th, 7th, and 8th graders – must have transportation daily to the course right after school & their own clubs
Color Guard/Flags will start during the first full week of school (date TBA) for all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders
Running club/ Cross Country starts September for all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders
Girls Basketball and Boys Tennis start mid-October
Boys Basketball and Girls Tennis start first day back in January
Track & Field starts late January
Cheer Try-outs for the following year and intramurals in the Spring
