Local Sorority Helps GHA Celebrate the Holidays

The Greensboro alumnae chapter of Delta Sigma Theta helped GHA’s Claremont Courts Community prepare to celebrate Christmas this year. The sorority’s Arts and Letters Committee plans events throughout the year that promote the arts and display talents of minority artists, while also encouraging positive images and experiences. This GHA event combines arts and crafts with community service. In addition to the women of Delta Sigma Theta, the participants of Delta Academy, also helped plan and carry out this fun-filled event.

Taking place on Saturday, December 15, 2018, attendees from the community were treated to numerous activities and holiday fun for children and adults. The event featured eight different crafts for attendees to create as gifts for friends or family members. This included items such as Christmas cards or a fun reindeer ornament craft. Holiday music played throughout the community center and Santa Claus away treat bags. Children had the chance to tell Santa what they wanted for Christmas while everyone enjoyed refreshments and plenty of treats worthy of a Christmas event!

Over 70 attended this excellent event and enjoyed a moment to celebrate the holiday season and prepare for their own celebrations. GHA is extremely thankful for the Delta’s planning that went into making this a memorable event.
